Dave Wilson

Dave Wilson leads the Climate Change theme at Itad, working with a team of six full-time technical M&E staff to meet the needs of clients for robust, evidence-based findings to inform decisions shaping a low carbon, climate-resilient future.

“Success at [The RMEL Conference and Convening 2018] would be not only just to share knowledge and information but to test it… does it resonate with people? Does it align with other work? And to learn from other practitioners… that’s part of the central rationale for the community of practice”

Dave is the Project Director for Itad’s role as a Learning Partner to the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP), and the component lead for Itad, as a member of the Knowledge Manager consortium for DFID’s Building Resilience and Adapting to Climate Extremes and Disasters (BRACED).

At the RMEL Conference 2018, Dave led the panel Lessons from BRACED: Results of different approaches to resilience measurement across 15 countries, sharing key outcomes from the BRACED evaluation, including:

·      Resilience Results: BRACED Final Evaluation, presented by Jennifer Leavy

·      Routes to Resilience: Insights from BRACED, presented by Paula Silva Villanueva

·      Measuring changes in resilience as a result of the SUR1M project in Niger, presented by Christophe Béné

His other recent work to measure, evaluate and understand resilience includes:

Dave holds an MSc in Environmental Science from the University of the Philippines, Los Banos (UPLB), and a BA (Hons) in Archaeology and Prehistory from the University of Sheffield.
